Bean Plant Growth and Soil Types<\/li>\n<li>Recall that the only variable in the experiment is the soil type<\/li>\n<li>Measure and chart any growth<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Note: Science Fair Procedures are due Thursday January 12th<\/span><\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Question &#8211; How do different soils affect the growth of a bean plant?<\/li>\n<li>Hypothesis &#8211; <em>If<\/em> we use Seed Starter Mix <em>then<\/em> it will grow faster<\/li>\n<li>Materials &#8211; Garden beans, 6 Small containers, 6 Different soils (RomoDirt, Edna&#8217;s Best Potting Soil, Perlite, Sphagnum Peat Moss, Seed Starter Potting Mix, Orchid Potting Mix), Water, Ruler<\/li>\n<li>Procedures<\/li>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Step 1: Organize your materials and label the six containers with their soil type<\/li>\n<li>Step 2: Measure out 600 c.c.&#8217;s of Perlite and add it to aptly marked container<\/li>\n<li>Step 3: Dig a 3 cm deep hole in the soil and place one garden bean within.\u00a0 Cover up the bean.<\/li>\n<li>Step 4: Measure out 30 ml of water and pour it onto the soil<\/li>\n<li>Step 5: Repeat steps 2-4 for each of the remaining soil types<\/li>\n<li>Step 6: Together place the various soil containers in a well it and warm area.<\/li>\n<li>Step 7: Once a day measure out 10 ml of water and pour it onto each growing plant.<\/li>\n<li>Step 8: In centimeters measure the daily growth of each container.\u00a0 Continue gathering data for at least one month.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<li>Observations &#8211;
